Much awaited World Cup 2015 is here and the King of matches “India vs Pakistan” is all set to be played on Sunday, 15th of February, 2015 at Adelaide Oval. This is the biggest contest that whole world is looking forward for. India has always had an upper hand wining 5 out of 5 (100%) of their matches against Pakistan in World Cup Contests. These are:
- In 1992, India led by bold and young Mohammad Azharuddin won their first contest against Pakistan.
- In 1996, India vs Pakistan is mostly remembered by Aamir Sohail vs Venkatesh Prasad Contest which India managed to win ultimately.
- In 1999, it was again Vanketesh Prasad’s show and the Green Team again failed to win.
- In 2003, Sachin Tendulkar’s blisteing 98 showed India home.
- In 2011, it was once again Sachin’s luck and Raina’s Class that took the team over the line.
India are the favorites to win their 6th contest against Pakistan on 15th tomorrow. But Pakistan is all set to break the shackles. #WeWontGiveItBack is a buzz around the social media these days. However, we think India will have to give it back this time. Here are top 5 reasons why we think India is gonna lose.
1. Wonderful pair of Wahab and Irfan
It is well known fact that Indian batsmen are not too good against left arm pacers. Wahab Riaz has proved his class taking five for in their last encounter against India in 2011 and Australian pitches will only better his attack. Mohammad Irfan, on the other hand, is too quick and high for Indians to handle.
2. Absence of Master Blaster
It may sound a cliché for an Indian fan to hear that India will lose the match if there is no Sachin Tendulkar. It has not been the case always. Sachin Tendulkar has played all the 5 games we are talking about and has claimed Man of the Match trophy on 3 occasions. It will be pretty hard for young players to fill in the void created by the legend’s absence.
3. Lack of quality pace attack
Indian bowling attack is not as good as Pakistan. Except Umesh Yadav, all other bowlers in their line up are medium pacers and may not have enough to trouble the Pakistan’s Batting lineup. Again, there is no one to match Afridi’s class or Yasir’s perfection. We think, Pakistan is going to set up a good total or chase whatever comes their way.
4. Lack of Form
With India having lost all the matches in their tour of Australia and the Tri Series which had England in it recently, there is no player who seems to make an impact in the game tomorrow. All the players are going though a lean period and may not be able to express themselves in a high voltage game.Warm up matches were too not very helpful, loosing heavily to Australia. However, they did manage to win a game against Afghanistan but that is not going to do any good.
5. Unpredictable Pakistan
Pakistan has always been known for their unpredictable nature. Being under dogs in 1992 World Cup, they went on to win the Contest. This time again, when they seem underdogs without the lights of Saeed Ajmal, Mohammad Hafeez, Junaid Khan and Umar Gul, they will come up with their magic and beat India.
